Just curious. I was wondering how much it would cost to get your whole car sanded down and painted? I know when I got my front bumper sanded and repainted, it cost me $300. Anyone on the forums have any experience painting their cars? You guys think it would be better just to overlay/wrap my car?

 

cost of paint job can vary significantly from shop to shop depending on the amount of prep work they do, the type of paint they use, number of coats they will be painting, whether or not the attachment parts (like bumpers, molding strips, mirrors, etc) will be removed from the car and painted, whether or not they would be using a proper (dust, light, and temp controlled) paint booth, and the overall quality of the job. Quality paint job costs lot of money (above $4K). Sanding, filling small imperfections, and preparing takes lot of work.

Someone will come around and say "I had the whole car painted on my car for under $500" .
If you don't care how the car looks or not understand what a quality paint job mean, sure take your car to that shop that paints the car for $500

 

My brother got his 07 LS460 painted for 4k job came out perfect but it does matter on the body shop prep work like dent,dings etc.
