I need a paint corrector marker or pen or whatever for my e60. The thing is i heard smth aobut this on the forum but i don't know if bmw has smth like this or makes smth like this. Where should i look then because my car is carbon black and standard black may not to the job properly. I need to cover some stone chips on the rear bumper, or whatever are they, some little but kinda deep scratches. Also there is a stone chip on the hood.

Can anyone help me or point me in the right direction?
Thanx

I've tried those products but wasn't happy with the results. The problem is they apply too much paint, which makes the repair too obvious. The best thing to do is get a bottle of touch up paint from the dealer, and use a tooth pick, and apply a very small amount to each chip. If necessary, after it dries, apply another very small amount.

I got the touch-up paint pack from the dealer and used it just like "Stream" wrote and it worked fine. Just be sure to use a toothpick not the brush that comes with the paint set.

What would go wrong if we used the brush? Color mismatch?

You get too thick layer of paint with the brush, making the repaired spot bulge out too visibly.

I bought an expensive kit to fix a deep scratch made by Langka. The kit included a small paint brush and a vinyl scraper for removal of excess paint to avoid the bulge in the finished surface. The scaper got excess paint around the scratch that marred the the finish when I removed it. I was then forced to have the bumper repaiinted. I like Stream's method over the Langka kit.

So i just order from my dealer a bottle of carbon black paint? LOL
That sounds kinda dumb especially because i don't know the right word in romanian language. Is there a part code or smth? Or how should i ask...I know it's sounds stupid!

Get the paint code from under your hood and get the kit from your dealer. Walk around with the paint in your pocket for at least several hours to ensure good mixture. Then, forget the brush.

The raw end of a ripped-out-of-a-pack (paper) match makes a perfect applicator. The brush (I wonder why after about 50 years on the market, they haven't noticed that these things have NEVER worked well) is like using a mop; way too much paint.

Whatever you use, less paint is better. Be sure the surface is clean (especially of WAX), and let it dry several hours before attempting to apply the Clear coat in the same fashion.

Good luck,
Ray Hull
