My dealer reckons "off the record" that my E60 has been in a shunt, I have taken all the panels off inside the boot and it all looks straight as a die, and it doesn't look like its had anything straightened or replaced.
All i'd like to know is that if anyone else on here has a carbon black E60, what colour is the body behind the trim, it looks like pattern part matt black behind there on mine, this includes the underside of the parcel shelf.

Any help guys?

That sounds about right. Mines silver and in the boot/trunk and under the parcel shelf it's matt silver. Body colour minus the top clear coat.

I think the dealer is pulling my chain, the car looks far too straight to have been in an accident. I know what replacement panels look like and the seam sealer all looks spot on.

it also has 05 stamped on the panels on the LHS of the car behind the trim I assume this is the build year.

No mass produced car has the inside of the panels clear coated. Therefore, all inside panels should be matte.
