Just got a call from my dealer, my 2005 545i which was suppose to be produced 1st week in Feb, was produced 4th week of the year. Owners circle is saying awaiting production, dealer tells me its been produced.

Is there usually a delay in updates to owners circle?

Thanks

yes, OC usually lags a bit behind. It still said "Awaiting transport" for my car the day I picked it up from my dealer!

Yes - I found Owner's Circle was slow in providing updates. Dealership usually has more current info.

Yes - When I was tracking my order it was off by about 3 weeks. My car was in my driveway and owners circle was still reading en-route to dealer

SO essentially, it sounds like the tracking system is useless!! How do I find out what ship it is on so I can track the ship?

Pretty much! As for your ship, giving us your location would help. East coast deliveries I believe are still using the WW line, where you can track using your VIN. Go to the FAQ section or do a search for more details. If you are on the west coast, BMW has uses a different shipping company that does not allow tracking I'm afraid, though I think others have found ways to get ship names and follow the ship at sea. Mine came on WW so I was a able to track the whole way.

Also use the 800 number to BMWNA and they can help you track it as can your dealer/salesperson.

Your VIN number should be available on the Owners Circle. Click on "Review Order Detail" on the Vehicle Tracking page.

Getting back to your first question...I checked on a Wednesday and the web said "Scheduled for Production"... I checked the NEXT day and it read, "Awaiting Transport".

If your on the East Coast keep in Mind the WW website is about 48 hours behind on tracking info as well, as my car was on the ship for two days before a search based on my VIN came up with it being on the ship. Also the phone number has much more accurate information then the OC website. Good Luck.
