Nobody in the UK would nod to a fellow E60 owner. Only a fellow enthusiast to another maybe if they knew. I once spoke to a guy at petrol station who was driving an E60 and asked him what he thought, he said he prefered the A6's interior! Enough said

If you drove a 3 series in the UK and nodded to every owner your head would fall off after 1 mile

At least in Boston, nobody in Mass TurnPike would nod to you in their BMWs : 3-series, E60, or even 7 series. We just drive on ....

No looks here either. Other E60s dont seem to care. Like said above... most owners are not into cars they just have it to drive from A to B.

///M5 owners are different... you'll probably get more nods from them.

There might be many an enthusiast driving an e60, but the fact of the matter is that the e60 is just much too common. While driving the car in the beginning of '04, it gathered much attention from both bmw and non-bmw drivers. I'm a bit glad that it went away though.

If there's an e60 owner or BMW owner that takes off on the highway or a clear road, I'll gladly follow suit though. On my way to a haircut the other day, I ran into this mini and had some fun on the roads. When he turned off, we exchanged a wave and smile. While driving off, in my side view mirror, I could still see the grin on his face.

[quote name='Aaron' date='Apr 25 2005, 03:23 PM']In bike code, if you ride past another biker, you give a low wave.? Most people abide by this unwritten rule, but some don't.? I wave, if I don't get a return wave, I just keep on moving.? No shame, I did my part.? With the BMW, if you don't get a return, change the wave to a bird and just keep on moving.

Why would you keep on moving with no shame if a rider doesn't wave back but if a BMW owner doesn't wave back, you take offense? Unlike motorcycles, there isn't any BMW code that I'm aware of so why would you expect BMW drivers to wave? Sounds like you have things reversed...

Rudy, you're correct. Actually, bird not necessary in either case. Keep on moving and be happy!!!

With all said, this is the reason we need to get a Forum decal.

You did...

When i'm in my mini most of the time fellow mini drivers greet.
My (wifes) mini has bonnet stripes and the extra foglights 17" rims etc, they serve as a police magnet and as a sign of enthousiasm to other mini drivers.

In my E60 I never get any other E60's greeting.
