I currently own a 2004 545i step and now have nearly 60,000 miles on it. Have only had minor problems, mostly computer or electronic related. Love the car. Have driven it from Maryland to LA twice; to Denver 4 times and up and down the eastern seaboard countless times. Cars a champion. Out of the nine (9) BMW I have owned, this is by far the best (have owned 2 540i's [2000 and a 2002]. One thing I've done to make it a better car is to have gotten rid of the run-flat tires! Only got 24,000miles out of them, the ride was horrible and they were regressively expensive to replace. Now run Michelin Pilot Sport A/S's and they ride beautifully. To my main point now: I'm thinking about replacing the 2004 with probably a last version e60 or the replacement 5 series. I want the sportiness of the paddle shifters, but not the cost of the Sports Package (sp). I also dont want the "staggered tire" package that comes with the sp. I want to know if anyone knows how to order a car that deviates from the standard order profile? Is there a way to special order what amounts to a personalized car without the high cost usually associated with this type of request?

Huh? Maybe you should speak with a dealer?
