I currently have a service loaner that is a 550 sport. A couple of options to comment on. It has the comfort access - very cool option - maybe not $1,000 cool - but very cool. It also does NOT have active steering. Maybe because I have been driving with active stering for 18 months - but I almost feel unsafe without it. I would urge anyone thinking about active steering to drive cars with and without it for an extended time. On straight roads, curvey roads, and in parking lots. Wonderful option. I couldn't agree more with your comment about Active Steering. I have it on my 550i and I drove a loaner 530i without it for about 4 hours and couldn't believe the difference. For me, I was actually uncomfortable driving without it. I'm sure that after awhile I would have gotten used to the standard system, but I really missed the Active Steering for the few hours I didn't have it.
