Last year I really struggled to find car insurance companies in UK that were willing to insure a car with more than 3 optional extras (my car has about 19 optional extras). The only ones I've managed to find are:
Anyway, I'm due for a renewal soon and wanted to know if anyone knows of any others?
Thanks
- Liverpool Victoria
- NFU Mutual
- Adrian Flux

I re-newed this year with Chris Knott Insurance, they beat my quote from Elephant by £100, I was well pleased ! There was no problems with the options, just as long as they were factory fit.

You don`t need to declare factory fitted options they should be included. I just renewed my insurtance with direct line £636 with 1 claim and full no claims discount.
Had some qoates as high £3500 for fucks sake.

I have never paid over £369 fully Comp for my 530D so far, first year was with AA £399 with £30 Online Discount, renewer quote with them was £510 so moved to Privilege for the amazing quote of £339, there renewer quote this year was £489 so have moved to AXA who were quoting £369. All these quotes I got from Confused dot com which I find comes out with cheapest quotes although I try them all. Finally when I find a low quote I put all my details in again on the site direct to see if I can knock a bit more off. I am 43, with nine years plus NCD, even have my wife on the insurance as a second driver, and she only passed her test on Automatic three years ago.

Swift Insurance are usually good - Got mine down from £800 to £400
I also thought that if optional extras are factory fit then there is no need to declare them

I've just renewed with Elephant again. The requote they sent through was for £900, I told them that Admiral was quoting me much lower than that without giving a figure(£600), and they came back with £510. Considering that I still consider myself as young(ish) and do 30k per year, it's not too bad. From the looks of things, most of your optional extras are factory fitted, which means that they don't count as modifications and shouldn't need to be declared.
I had my TVR with Adrian Flux, you could also try Swinton. Best bet is probably to use a confused.com or meerkat website to get an idea, then start making phone calls and tell them that you've been qouted 20% under the best price out there. Good luck!

check with what company u go with, I have found out today most tend to consider optinal extras fitted at factory as modifications as they are not standard spec for ur model. Best to be safe than sorry and declare them

You don`t need to declare factory fitted options, my insurance paid out and i never told them a thing until i needed to claim and they never bothered about the non run-flats i had fitted.

Dood that's rubbish, as the guys and gals on this forum will know I had a serious accident in April. Insurance loss adjuster was asking me what was fitted at the factory and increasing the payout because of it.

You don't need to declare factory fitted options, just the things you've done since owning it. Most insurance companies give you an allowance anyway for some small mods. Like direct line lets you have upto £1000 of audio cover for free. I had a smash 4.5 years ago, my fault, so my insurance was just quoted cheapest by Aviva for £1004, with 4 years no claims. The most expensive quote was £5,800! what a joke...
