I cna have any of the above, I have personally looked at the antracite I dont like it, the wood has no flash boring straight grain I think Mercedes does the best Job on there black wood.

it has a really nice color and grain

Jaguars Looks green and BMW look washed out.

Im leaning towards Poplar or Aluminium

both are avail,

Does the Aluminium feel or cheapen the interior

Id prefer Carbon Fiber hehehe.

Yes the birds-eye maple in the E-class is nicer than the maple in the e60, but hey, you can't have everything. I have maple (anthracite) - it does grow on you and you do see some nice subtle effects in the wood over time, it helps in nice sunny weather.

Why don?t you consider light poplar, new for MY05.

Availible in Europe anyway. I don?t know about the US though.

Option 437

Would definitly enlighten your dark interior

Have you looked at Maple? It's a black wood with a grain. I have ordered it on my car which I should collect this week so can take pictures then if you'd like to see it.

The dark poplar is very nice - consider getting the shift nob and ebrake handle too. Not as nice as the Audi wood, but IMO the dark Popular is the best. Light is not available in the US as far as I know. Pic of dark Poplar below:

i personally think anthracite looks good for black on black. but if you don't like that wood, either poplar or aluminum is ok. poplar has a more luxury look but aluminum is more sporty. i have poplar and love it .

I got anthracite because the wife picked it out. I'm terrible with mixing and matching colors. Yes, she needs to dress me to find a tie to match a shirt. Realize that's my problem. But, I like the interior we have. Could do with the really light colors. Was looking at something more subdued. Bling Bling is nice but it can be too far out there but then again, that is coming from someone over the age of 50.
