Although the tires were complimentary, thanks to this forum, I have discovered one more reason to loathe the run flats. This image was taken of my garage floor, and you can clearly make out the image of the tread pattern of the tires on my epoxy finished floor. I tried to pressure wash them, tried using a few solvents, and nothing seems to work. I am assuming that the brown residue is some sort of protecting film applied at the tire at the factory, but I don?t want to wait six days for my SA to call me back and confirm my own suspicion. Seriously, can anyone make a defendable argument as to one single redeeming feature these tires have? The run flats should be a debate topic next year for the national debating scholarship.

Do I win the debate?
I would say thats a problem with the flooring not the tyre. If its garage flooring then it should be able to withstand oils etc and that mark is only from a tyre resting on it.

It appears to me that after enough wear, you have exposed the fossilized remains of a coelacanth. You may want to alert a local university. Such a discovery could rock the evolutionary science community.

I'd be curious to see if Meguier's Cleaner/Wax would take that off? Worth a try at least?

When you have a puncture, you don't have to stop at the side of the road to change a wheel. Do I win the debate?

Runflats will take over the world one day...
When they have worked out how to build them to avoid the harsh ride, 'skipping' under hard cornering and hideous noise
Butr not yet

It is not the floor covering, as the the other car's tires would do it. The epoxy on the floor is a military grade high zoot spec stuff that I used in my hanger, so I know it is impervious to to just about everything but Dunlop runflat tire juice. I am going to try a little hydroclorich acid on it next, that should do the trick. No, you don't win the prize for a puncture that you can drive on, because we have 24/7 roadside assistance, and if you have a flat, you change the tire from the spare in the trunk, and get the main tire fixed. Runflats are an exspensive way of driving a short distance to get a new tire. I just don't see the logic for putting them on the car in the first place, and having the tire goo staining the floor was just one more reason to hate these things... Venting just about done....
