I have had one scheculed oil service at around 15000 miles which i still think is excessive, but my SA does not and refused to change the oil sooner even if i paid, he just does nto recommend it per BMW trials and test of oil breakdown and viscosity test. Now i have 27000 miles and on the oil service reminder on the idrive, says service in 7000 more miles to go and it has been there for about 4000 miles at what point does this modern technolgy register correctly or am i missing something.

Yeah, the oil service in my car is kind of strange too. I have put roughly 1,500 miles on the car already but the indicator in iDrive still shows 15,000 for oil service. Not only the oil meter, other indicators also seem to stay still. It has me worrying a little. I will wait for a little more while and see.

For me at 8K miles the oil counter seems to be wokring fine but other counters have halted to a stand still... showing same numbers as new...
For instance brakes 35K miles spark plugs 100K miles etc etc...
Only thing thats count for me is the oil counter...
Anyone else with about 8K miles and what are their counters reading?

My Ride: 2006 Jet Black 530xi, Premium, Cold, Steptronic
My 530xi read 13K for oil change when I bought it, drove it a little harder after 2,000 miles and it read 12K for the oil change. After 4K miles it is telling me that I need my oil changed at 10K....strange.
