I changed it after 1200 mile break-in. Had a lot of fine metal in the filter. I change it every 5k miles. I currently have 12.5k miles on it. The vicosity was broke down pretty good after 5k. I have been using Mobil 1 5W30. I have also noticed a little better fuel econmy, and smoother idle after a change. I agree with skaffa on the condensation issue. I would change it regardless of the miles after 6 months. I also agree with stream. This past oil change I figured out that you don't need an oil filter socket for the plastic cap, to replace the filter cartridge. I was able to turn it with my hand, and lossen/ tighten.
