According to theory 5:
My car:
BMW High Performance Oil Virgin TBN: 10 (from datasheet)
Oil Capacity: 6.9 Qts
Observed MPG: 22
Engine C.I.: 182.8
SAE Net HP: 215
I need to change oil at 12907 miles. To be conservative, if using 8 for TBN, it's 10325 miles.

That's too complicated for me. 
Interesting stuff though (not that I really understood it 
). I stuck with the BMW service indicator this time round for the oil change (10,000 for me) - but will probably do one in between the BMW "mandated" changes from now on, so every 5K or so. I'm sure it's 100% psychological but my 545 does actually feel better after the last change - seems a little quieter and smoother now.
