Just got my car back from the dealer with a "faulty SCM module". Apparently this controls the vertical and horizontal part of the adaptive headlights. Problem is my headlights are not aligned now. I want to do it myself rather than spending more time at the dealer. Can anyone tell me which "screws" to turn to adjust the vertical and horizontal? How delicate are they? I have adjusted them on Audi's and VW's and those are pretty delicate. Or should I just take it back to the dealer.

Look at the headlights from the top, you'll see a 2 hex head screws. I think they are white. 1 will adjust up and down and the other will adjust left and right positions

If the SCM Module is u/s then the "adaptive headlights" (where they turn with your steering etc) will not work properly. If it was me I would get the module replaced and not compensate by adjusting the static headlight adjusters.

How can you do that without the proper beam setting equipment anyway? Why didn't your dealer show a bit more concern instead of leaving it to you?

+1 also has the potential to disturb oncoming drivers or receive a motor vehicle infraction (ticket) when xenons are mis-aligned.

I use my garage door to shine the headlights on. Use a vehicle that the lights are aligned properly as far as you know as use it as a reference. Park about 10-15 feet from the door and turn the lights on. adjust them so that they are close in comparison to the comparison vehicle. I will block one light and adjust it then do the same on the opposite side. If you notice people highbeaming you, then guess what they are aimed too high. I have used this on both my mercedes, bmw, and motorcycle with good results.

Sorry for the confusion. THE SCM was replaced but the dealer didn't align the lights after putting the module in. My bad for the bad explanation.
