I am planning to order an OBD scan tool. I opened the access door and much to my surprise instead of the usual pin receptacle I observed a small resistor. In front of the resistor is a small metal loop. Help please; being new to BMW I need an education. Thank you on advance.

Post a Picture of it..

The ODB port is just above the boot release, mine has a plastic cover that you have pull off first, no resistor can be seen..

Also have a resistor on mine. Its inside the small space on the plug. Lokks like a normal electronic resistor.

Ahh, it's probably a 120 ohm terminating resistor for canbus. Nothing to worry about.
