o/s reverse light failure

hi,

i have a 2003 530d se which has had rear lci lamps fitted. the drivers side (uk right hand drive) doesnt work, only the passenger side works. i have replaced the bulb to no avail. i have swapped the white bulb holder and bulb from the passenger side over to the drivers side but this also failed to produce results. i pulled out the conductors on the white bulb holder on bothe bulb holders to ensure there was definately a connection but no joy. any ideas?

Check the connection with a volt meter. If you don't get a voltage when in reverse, then you may have a short somewhere on that wire to that bulb. The light module on a BMW can detect a short and after detecting a short a few times in a row, actually shuts off that light completely. The circuit needs to be reset inside the light module. Do some searching for threads on this issue.
