for a few weeks i noticed vibration. Today i did a thorough inspection and i found my right rear wheel is facing or bending inwards while the left one is facinf straight. This would explain the vibration since i had all tires balanced. My question is can this be fixed through alignment or is my rear control bent? :(

Sorry to hear. Difficult to say without a detailed inspection.

take a hammer and hit it and smash it. LOL. j/k. put on a spare if u have one or borrow someone's wheel, take it for a spin and see if it vibrates. it it still does, ur in trouble. if not, drive on a spare and send the wheel to get it fixed

my opinion is no, unfortunately, i have had much experience with such a problem, once the wheel has changed shape its never 100%, this happened to me on three occassions and its never 100%,even after a full geometry check inc alignment, balance & track, best to get another wheel, if its stock you got? then its an a bit of a pricey excuse to get some 19in m rims
however check with the bmw dealer to have a full piece of mind |
i just spoke to my uncle who is a very good mechanic. He also mentioned that the wheel has gone bad. I have m166 tires with michelin p2s. How could the right rear have changed its shape??? HMM if i put on my spare and it is facing straight, that would mean it is the wheel? right? i appreciate your guys help.

Did you hit a curb or big pothole?
Also, check to make sure the lugs are tight. If you do put the spare on and it's straight then IMHO it would probably be a wheel problem. |
also does that mean the rim is bad or the tires need to be replaced. sorry for the dum questioins

well today i replaced the wheel with the spare and also tried a different tire, they all face inwards. That clears up one thing, its not the wheel. Do you guys think alignment will solve this or some entire part my have to be replaced?

also i have AS, how much do you think it should run me for an alignment, i remember reading $400

There are many good wheel straightener shops out there. We have a very good one, right here in MA. If you live in MA, please PM me and I will give you the name of the shop. |
