A guy that lives near me, recently sold his E92 M3 for a 2008 M5, as he needed more space for his family. On his second week of ownership, he took it out to the Robert Moses Causeway Bridge. Heading north, with nobody on the bridge, he punched it, hitting 168. His detector never went off, but when he exited the bridge, he was pulled over immediately and arrested on the spot. A Cessna from above caught him in the act.

I know that many of us have used this bridge to hit higher than average speeds in our cars. In fact, it's pretty common amongst many car enthusiasts on Long Island to use this bridge as "testing grounds" for their cars, so be careful!

If you use this bridge at all, BEWARE! Your radar will not help you in this situation...V1 or not! LOL!

Wow that's messed. When I had a nissan maxima a couple of years ago I was speeding behind another car on the jersey turnpike and the car in front me got pulled over. I slowed down and kept going thinking I was cool. A couple of minutes later a state trooper caught up with me and gave me a ticket. On the ticket it said caught by helicopter. Luckily the maxim wasn't that fast and I was able to go to court and plead with the prosecutor for a monetary fine and no points.

What about the time 12 of us got together to go out east along the LIE and they got one of us with cameras, no radar either.
My Beltronics GX has those marked in GPS now.

Weak. Was it daytime or night? Cops hate fun. That bridge couldn't be wider or less populated after beach hours.

I can't believe they get enough revenue from tickets to be able to run a fucking plane......

This used to be the best place to run, but that last couple of years they,ve really kicked up enforcement and added the aerial raids...plus the fact that they've been fixing the bridge to repave so its just too perfect to run...gotta keep it down low now, and if you are gonna run, do it between october and like april when there's no body down there, during summer time you are just askin for trouble....hope you got a good lawyer C!!
