May I say it was one of most joyous rides of my life. I-95 is a great highway. Once you pass Washington DC the fun begins. I left at about 11PM from New York City for my road trip, and only stopped for gas. Had 2 friends with me who were lucky enough to take turns with me gettign behind the wheel. There was a point where we were topping out the car at 161MPH for a half an hour straight. It was ridiculously sick. I want to do it again. Thank g-d, the cops dint get me. I was equipped with my V1 Radar detector. awesome. We arrived in Miami at 3PM the next day totalling the time to about 17 Hours total travel time. This is probably record setting, there were seldom moments that we were under 120 mph. Note-- if you try this, make sure you wipe off the bugs from your bumper when you arrive. I killed many.

Sounds like a fun trip. Just watch out on the return for the troopers in VA (and DC). The VA troopers don't fool around and radar detectors are illegal to even have in your car (but the V1 is great ). Also they can and will try to give you one day in jail for every mile per hour over 90 in the commonwealth of VA. And anything over 80mph is wreckless. Don't ask how I found this out. The southern VA (Richmond) area is worse since the troopers and judges don't seem to like people from northern area (including Northern VA).

Sounds really nice. The E60 is a really car when it comes to long distance travel.

I guess you didn't have to worry about falling asleep. What kind of mileage did you get at that speed?

Nice nice, must've been fun. Too bad I'll be flying down to Orlando end of this month instead of driving. The wife can't take long road trips.

I don't see how you did it.

VA, NC & GA are all bad speed trap states. And the V1 isn't any help in NC. The state troopers there are using new radars which the V1 can't detect. I know, because I have a V1.... and have made that drive many times.

Yeah, but did you "smoke a shitload of pot?"
