BMW Group vehicle sales in November were up 11.4% when compared to last November. YTD sales for the first 11 months of 2005 were up a mere 4.2%.
Sales of the X Series were down 33.8% when compared to November, 2004 while car sales were up a rousing 43.9% as the 3,5 and 7 Series had an extremely good month.
Sales of the BMW brand were up 14.2% when compared to last November.
Total November MB sales of 18,284 units represent a 2.9% decrease from last November when 18,832 units were sold. 2005 YTD sales for MB are down 0.9%. MB sales would have been much lower save for introduction of the 2006 M Class in April and YTD sales of the SLK. Sales of the M Class were up 27.5% when compared to November, 2004 while YTD sales of the SLK were up 82.0%.
This month I have added a complete report for Lexus as I believe that the introduction of the new IS250 and IS350 models is going to the BMW 3 Series a real challenge in the coming months. Note that November sales of the Lexus IS250 and IS350 totaled 4,447 units while the new E90 3 Series sedans totaled 8,884 units. I?m betting that this sales gap will close in each of the next few months. In any event it will be fun to watch.

Please note that I only report the United States sales data.

Thanks, Fred, as always!
Although the Lexus info might be interesting to some, since your report now collapses the MB numbers to a few line items, I much prefer the old format (like September and prior) which included the major MB product lines--this way we could compare 5 series vs. E class, etc. Just my $0.02.

Check my website and you will see complete Lexus and Mercedes-Benz reports. I just think that Lexus is the real competition these days.
