I noticed today that I can now feel the gear stick slide into gear. It's actually notchy. On any other car this would be quite normall but I remember how rubbery the shfts felt when the car was new. Has something changed or is this normal.

My box feels good. No complaints at all. Only done 1500 miles though.

My transmition sucks. I hate the CDV, I dont even down shift anymore cause there's no telling where the engauging point will be. The shifter has lossened up a little. I didn't like the rubery feeling. Are you talking about when you shift gear its not so smooth and a little jerky (not the engauging) the acutal moving of the shifter?

Yes the actually shifter moving into the second slot. I liked the rubbery feeling. As for the clutch action that is the result of the CDV. I am getting mine replaced with a dummy one next week.

REPLACE THE CDV. Go the the Dave Zeckhausen racing site, and order a bored out CDV for about $35. Then have a good mechanic install it - should be less than $100. You won't believe the difference.

I've replaced the CDV and installed the UUC short-throw shifter. Both help, but I still don't think it's as good as my E39.

I would email the site or call the number. I did both and Dave responded with the So Cal shops, asked me for my address and mailed one out. I received an invoice by email and paid online with a credit card.

Ok just went to his site. Im going to buy one. It seems like it could be switched if i have a tranny problem . I wonder how hard this is. Can he send specific DIY instructions. Im probably better off going to a transmition shop though.
