I have a puncture on my runflats. My husband suggested we change the front 2 tyres to normal tyres as he thinks the runflats are too noisy.

Anyways I've been calling around for quotes and got told that I am only allowed to put runflats on runflat rims. I've called BMW to confirm and they said that it is correct, because my rims are for runflats I can't put normal tyres on them and if I want normal tyres I need to get new rims??

Is this correct??? My husband reckons he's seen people talk about replacing their runflats with normals tyres without replacing their rims.

If anyone has anymore info that would be great. Thanks
Just to add to the proof points on this topic. I replaced my run flats with normal Michelin's. No problem with the rims and I'm very happy with the ride. I also bought the spare tyre kit. I'm a little embarrassed about that as it was expensive. Good insurance though.

Like others have said, do all 4 at the same time.

Cheers
