Hi all- I'm sure the question must have been asked a million times before, but I did a forum/google search and the only thing that comes up is the BSW speaker upgrade. Is it possible to upgrade my standard audio in 06 530 to L7?

it will be cheaper to upgrade to BSW than to L7

I understand. However, that is just the speakers upgrade, I still would have the same non L7 electronics. If it is possible as you insinuate to upgrade, any information on how much, where to get it?

Please correct me if I'm wrong; as far as I understand, the L7 benefit is mostly in the DSP/Electronics and not much in the speakers. Is my understanding correct? How does a BSW upgraded non-L7 compare to a regular L7?

Non L7 from OEM got 10 speakers, L7 go t13 speakers
if you dont mind 3 extra speakers, then you can upgrade your amp in the trunk to L7, and upgrade your 2 sub under your seats to L7
BSW upgrade for non-L7 and L7 just 3 extra speakers

the dsp/amp is is quite easy to get, theres usually one or two on ebay, as for the wire loom need ask your local dealer, plus you will need new rear door panels for the rear door speakers

Why not just upgrade to BSW and call it a day? What is your end goal here? I have a feeling you might waste a considerable amount of money and time on doing the L7 upgrade, while doing little or nothing about improving the quality of the sound...

I agree to this, must be a lot of work, and I am sure it will be expensive. If you want better sound you can also change some of the OEM speakers to a better brand, like Alpine, Pioneer or something. They make replacement speakers for a lot of cars and I am sure they do for the E60 as well. Go see their catalog.

I like the rear amp and floor subwoofers upgrade idea. In my opinion, an adjustable EQ and deep bass is mostly all the HiFi is missing.

Question to those who has done it before:

If I have non-L7 and I upgrade the 2 subs under the floor, does it help improve the bass response? or the answer is " Don't even bother"

Please not that there is no amp at the back of the trunk.

Thanks in advance!!!
