My car used to flash its lights and beep twice when i locked it and now for some reason it does that exact routine for when i unlock the vehicle. How do i reset this function on my 05 545i?

go to the idrive settings. you can select lock and unlock feedback.

Mines Never Beeped....i got it second hand...and couldn't find it in the settings...?
Pre-LCI 2004 sports pack...

But, no alarm system either...is the beeping of the alarm? :confused:
I would like it to beep...(So people know that the car belongs to me as i walk up to it... :whistle:

sometimes, if a door is open, sunroof tilted etc etc - it does not beep...

when you lock it, it beeps and flashes once, and when you unlock it, it does it twice. Or viceversa, I don't remember.

However as the russian said, if a door is open it won't do it. Also, if you battery is low it won't do it either.

mine didnt beep all of a sudden either. popped trunk and reclosed it and that fixed it. with the alarm set i can shake the car with all my might and nothing happens. kinda scary
