No heating in the car

I struggling to find the fault with this, i have a e60 545i 2004 with 144k miles, I have changed the water pump, changed the thermostat, checked the idrive settings, have always got the climate on hot and auto but constantly blowing cold no matter how warm the engine gets, water level is a steady constant, fan kicks in as it should. Done the 12 minute bleed, but still no different, even checked the alternator voltage, 13.9-14.1 volts, any ideas guys.

Funny you mention it. I have a 2006 550i, the air temp eventually warms on cold days however it seems to take forever. Changed out the radiator, water pump and thermostat in the past year. Coolant is at appropriate level. Would also be interested in any potential explanations/remedies. Not familiar with "the 12 minute bleed" however.

Thanks! Ed

I would check the heater core valve and the heat blend door actuator.

Heater core valve and heat blend door? Where are these located?

"12 minute bleed is when you remove the water filler cap, switch ignition on and hold accelerator down for 10 seconds, the heater water pump kicks in, top up fluid as required.

Thanks! That's 10 seconds, how/where do the other 11 minutes 50 seconds apply?

Just keep an eye on the water level while the pump runs, put a battery charger on while doing the process.

Just checked other postings on the 12 minute bleed process. Apparently it only works with electric water pumps. The 550i has a mechanical water pump.

For main engine, the heater pump is on the right hand side of the engine bay. Near jump points

Thanks, tried it this past weekend and received a low coolant message afterward which indicates that the heater core was not completely filled prior to the bleed.
