No heat from dash vents

Just picked up an 09 535xi touring. When using the heater, I'm only getting warm/cool air from the vents, no matter what heat setting it is at. When I turn on the windshield defogger, it blows hot air....
any ideas where to start looking?

Thermostat and heater valve is where I would start troubleshooting.

It was the i-drive settings. All good now

Which actual i-Drive settings? I was about to suggest you check the Climate settings.

Climate settings, drivers side was set to blue bars, I changed them to red, now ok

Yeah but you don’t want hot air blowing in your face anyway. Middle point is the way to go
