No Audio after coding replacement CCC unit
 

Hello, I have a 2007 e60 530i, the iDrive went out on me and I replaced it with a junkyard ccc unit, and nearly everything worked right after i plugged it in, but no audio at all. I have INPA and NCSExpert, and I went thru the process of coding the CGATE, CHOST, CAUD, CTUNE, and CAPPL, and I still don't have audio. I'm new to coding these cars, and am wondering what I can use to test the amplifier module, and what other things I should be testing and looking at regarding audio. Also, id like to note my volume knob doesn't adjust the volume anywhere I can see, but pressing it in does show the mute emblem on the ccc display. not sure if that information is relevant but figured id offer it. Any thoughts or solutions you know of would be much appreciated.

Have you coded the CCC with defaults? If you give it a blank file it will reset to factory defaults based on your vehicle's VO. My guess is that you have the base stereo and the CCC came from a car with the higher end (or vice versa). The base model outputs the audio over copper wires and the high-end audio sends the audio through fiber optics. My car has the high-end Individual Audio and when I upgraded to CIC I got it from a donor car with the base audio and so I had no sound output. Coded it to defaults and instantly it was working.

When you use NCS Expert it gives you a file (called something like FSW_PSW) after reading from a module. If you open the file in a text editor and completely erase it, then write it back to the module the module then sets itself back to factory defaults depending on your VO and your VO will tell it which amplifier you have.

Try what kd7iwp stated and reply back if that doesn't work for you. you can also go into CAPPL and change the amp setting from internal to external or opposite of it's current setting, and that should do the trick. (I will verify the module and post if this info needs to be updated)

What profile did you load on ncs expert (factory/ expert mode)?
try loading factory mode, populating your car info and then writing to cappl, ctune, chost, caudi, cgate without reading it first
