My Ride: '06 530i Silver Gray/Black, Sport, Prem., Logic 7, Cold Weather, Auto, M Aero package, Nav, Comfort Seats, IPod aux
New to the forum. You guys have provided a ton of great information for me. Thanks so much.
I haven't been able to find my 'perfect' 530i in stock anywhere so I'm at the point where I am ready to order and then wait and wait for delivery. I'm finishing up negotiations with dealers now---one dealer says he has a production slot next week and could get my options on the car..we'll see.
Anyhow, I'm pretty sure I'm going with Silver Gray/Black, Sport, Prem, Logic 7, Cold Weather, Auto., M Aero package on a 530i. I just learned about PCD tonight---definitely doing that as I'm not too far up the road.
Here's my question-- I am not a fan of the 123 wheels---can I order my car with 124 wheels?? How much does that cost?
Also considering putting 19s on it as I'm worried that the 18" will look small with the M Aero package... Any thoughts? My budget is getting stretched so I'd rather put off 19s until I need new tires.
Thanks for your input!

You won't be able to order the 124 wheels from the factory on the 530, but you can absolutley work them into the deal through the dealer. Look on BMW.com under "build a 550I" under optional dealer installed accessories, I think the wheel packages are around 3000k.
I was just at a dealer last week and saw a M5 with the 19's and a 550 with the 18's. I did not see all that much difference in look, I mean a little but not if you were not really looking for it. Remember the 19's give you a lower profile tire which will harshen up the ride, just remember that.
Good luck with your decisions.

welcome hoopsrob
PDC is a must if you have to parallel park, since these babys dont have real bumpers to protect the front & rear, its absolutely necessary
as for the rims question, you cannot switch rims, but of course, you can buy the style 124s, this is all a matter of taste, but the 123s do look nice in person if you are only going by pix you've seen, not to say that the 124s arent nicer though...some dealers will allow you a trade credit on your existing, but they take advantage big time and may only offer $50-100 per rim, ...what you may want to consider is keeping the 123s for a winter rims set and getting those 19s for the summer, as you must consider that the 18s that come with the Sport pkg are performance tires and they will give you no traction in snow/ice driving
...as for your specs, the car sounds great, good luck

My Ride: '06 530i, Titanium Silver, Gray Leather, Sports PKG, Premium PKG, Sound PKG, Cold PKG, STEP Tranny, Power sun shades, fold rear seats, rear seat heating, PDC, Nav
I'd also add the comfort seats....they are awesome!
Im not sure if you had this on your list (with Cold Weather), but heated rear seats, keep the passengers nice and toasty (not that they get used much in southern cali); plus the cost at that point is just in the noise; just like with automatic rear shade.

Silver Gray - Black Leather - Anthracite Maple
Manual Transmission
Premium Audio
Cold Weather Package
Rear sunshade
Sirius Radio
Autobahnd Roadblock (3M) film kit
If you do plan on spending the full cost, you might as well consider some other wheel options. I personally like the M double spoke 172 wheels or the M5 wheels (166).

Also, quite a few members have 172s. Merv the Derv, BMW#5... his gallery is a 530i M Sport with spacers and the 172s -

I have never seen the wheels here in the states yet.

msport package, steptronic, pdc, mystik blue, grey dakota leather, sunroof, Bi-Xenon, heated rear seats, Hi-FI system, velour carpets
Hi,
I thought also the 18" looked a bit to small in the beginning but I changed my mind. I think the 18" looks absoultly great with the msportpackage. Check the picture out!
