There's been a debate about the 545i transforming into the 550i for some time.
Will the new 550i have the same transmission as the 545i? BMW's 2004 E60 product info booklet states the 545i and 745i have the same tranny.
Does the new 06 525i/530i have a new tranny or is it a carryover?

The 750i got a new transmission ( manual and auto ) as did the 06 530i
The 745i transmission isnt shared with any other car
The new 530 transmission is shared by the 530i,330i and 630i

Hi,
Both the new 530i and 750i/L use the GA6HP26Z. The only difference is the 750i/L, uses a shift by wire system. The GZ6HP26Z is also used in the currect 545i, 745i/760i, 645i.
ZF does have a 6HP32, but it's not in use by BMW at this time. It's got a revised torque converter and can handle more power.
