Worn wheel bearings should make noise before they cause a vibration.

My 550i does the same thing after purchasing michelin pilot super sports form discount tire. According to them, all the tires do indeed "zero" out on their machine, so they won't exchange them. I had them road force balanced at dealer which seems to have taken care of the steering wheel shake (front tires unbalanced), but car still shakes at hwy speeds (70-75). I also had one of the rear rims fixed and refinished, but it didn't help anything. I'm taking it in to the dealer next week, we'll see what they have to say.

If it only started when you got a new set of tires, there are a couple of probable causes:
1. The tires are bad
2. The balance was not effective
3. The mounting was bad or bent a rim etc

It is unlikely it is a rotor or bearing, unless you had symptoms before.

If it happened soon after the new tires, there are now a number of options, all described in previous comments.

Rotate the tires a bit, see if you can isolate which tire is giving you the problems.

OP, what approximate speeds are the shakes? Have you thought about your thrust/control arm bushings? Got a friend with an E60 you can swap wheels with temporarily to see if the problem stays with the wheels or the car?

there was once my steering started to vibrate after balancing. The tyre guy took out the wheels from the rim and refit them and balance. Things are back to normal..or maybe ask the tyre shop to fit in a used tyre ( but safe to use) and see if it still vibrate. If it does, most probably its your rim.

Definitely recommend having the control arm bushings checked and replaced if necessary.

Also check if the tires are out of round. You can easily spot this on a spinning balance machine - you can see the tire "jumps" up and down.

Also try a different brand (Continental DWS?). I also had a vibration problem with my set of Yoko Avid Envigors on my other car. They balanced them 3 times but the car still vibrates a little on highway speed. I am king of giving up on it because I bought the tires online. Too much hassle sending back and forth.

after having a horrible problem with this on one of my e39s, I bought my own balancer (yes, you read that right) and learned quickly
that by using two plane balancing, meaning weights on the inside and outside of the wheel instead of just one set in the middle, problems were eliminated.

You probably also have worn control arms.

so, check where the weights are on the wheels. if you only see one set, they are not balanced.

I had same problem with Yokohama Avid Envigo, but replaced them with Advan S4 and problem is almost gone, despite my rear wheel is bent a little. The guys in tires shop told me a lot BMW have a problem with those tires
