For your socket wrench, best is to use one which has a hinge joint attached to an exension, then attached to a universal joint, which is attached to a sparkplug socket. I had a similar space problem with the I6 engine and this allowed me to get back to it. Toughest part is that it was tucked back under the cowl and the plugs are 4" inside the head.

Hey NC530i, What type of plug did you use on you 2004 530i. I have the same car with 75,000 mls and was thinking about changing them out.
