Guys

Any ideas? My wife's E61 keeps displaying a warning that the anti trap on the window is malfunctioning and keeps dinging. God only knows it's been in for two weeks for the cd player so it will be gone for a month for this one. I think we can put up with it but does anyone know how to disconnect the ding sound?
Only joking but any ideas or is this another software issue as was the problem with the sunroof?

Thanks

I have no idea about this. Dealer is the place to go.

Have you cleaned the top edge of the window glass? and the borrom black edges of the window where it slides down into the door? Someone posted a while go stating that having dirty windows (perticular the top edge when rolled down affects the sensor)

I'd get that when, on occasion, my window wouldn't close - I'd be trying to close it and it would be going up 3/4 of the way and opening again. After several attempts it would finally close and that warning would appear. I complained about it and they replaced the winder mechanism for the window - at the same time they did a software upgrade (emission recall) and one of those fixed the problem. At least I assume it's fixed.

Clean the glass before you bother with the dealer. Both my rear windows were opening and closing in 3-4 inch steps and the anti-trap fault was showing when I took delivery. I cleaned them well and they've worked fine ever since. If that doesn't fix it, then go to the dealer.

Yeah, clean the glass and you'll definitely be alright.

Hi,

I had the same and it was a (well known) software-problem.

It's fixed now by cip 15.

I'm afraid cleaning the windows won't help.

You can reset it by....

Identify the faulty window by finding which window does to have the one-touch function

1) switch on engine
2) open the window fully in one go by keeping your finger on the button
3) Close the window fully in one go by keeping your finger on the button
4) Switch off engine and remove key
5) Start engine again.

unless there is a hardware fault, the fault should have reset itself.

I've tried to see which window does not respond to the one touch feature but they all do. The I-drive says it's an anti trap malfunction. I've tried cleaning all the window edges but to no avail.
To the dealers then?

Thanks Paul
