Hi guys,

I bought 525i, 07 one week ago and I have two questions,
1. Whenever I start the car, the A/C turn on automatically, so I have to press on off, until the car heats up a bit, then I re-open it again! why its doing that! I thought I left it open, but I didn?t! its happening if I left the car for 1 hour or so.
2. the I-drive into screen is the navigation, so can I change it? I saw some cars show the ?BMW? Logo instead, is that correct.

Also is the split screen option available for the I-drive Business nav. ?

No - Business Nav doesn't give you an option for a split screen.

To help you in navigating round the idrive, if you move and hold the selector for a few secs in one of the four axis, it will take you back to the last screen you were looking at in that particular sub section.

1. If or when you leave the climate control in "auto" mode, the air-conditioning is automatically switched on. If you have left the car in this configuration, it will restart in this configuration.

2. The I-drive screen starts up in the same position that it was in when you last shut off the engine. Don't know if there is any way of changing this though. At least this is the way my pre-LCI car behaves.

hey mates,
i just notice that there a separate memory for each key. i wonder what kind of things we could save in this memory. i don?t have a seat memory in my LCL but i have notice that each key can memorize:
- The radio stations
- The A/C settings
- The navigations setting
- the vehicle settings

what else? & how we could reset the key memory to default? maybe this could solve my problem stated in the first post as when i started the car with different key the A/C has started in Auto mode!?

That's definitely part of the explanation. Other settings that the key tends to remember are the electric seat and mirror settings (only if you have full electric seats). The throttle sensitivity is also remembered by the key - i found out the hard way! There is a pretty comprehensive list in the Key/Remote Control and Personal Profile pages of the user manual.

Programming of the key can be partially done when you use the key - it remembers the settings last used on it - and partially has to be done by the dealer. Not sure of the split of this, and I have no idea about how to set to default.
