Default New owner. Need help locating an oil leak and an oil change question.

Greetings.
In September I purchased a very well maintained '07 525xi with 115,000 miles from a private party. Today I performed an oil change on it (first service I've had to do on it). I used Valvoline 5-30 synthetic and a Mann filter. I noticed some oil around the jack pad on the belly pan. I removed the belly pan found some oil on the right front of the engine. The topside of the motor looks dry, so I'm not suspecting the valve cover gasket. I'm new to the world of BMW (I've always been a VW/Audi/Volvo guy), and I do all of my own service, repairs and tricks on our vehicles. Can anyone help me narrow down what the leak could be?

Second question. I used 7 quarts per the information I've gleaned on this and other forums, but when I check the oil level via iDrive, it shows low (but an acceptable level). Should I add oil to the system or is it fine as-is?

Looking forward to many miles with this car, I'm enjoying it so far. It's a bit doggish, but it's so smooth.

I get oil down there from the intercooler.
Probably just inefficient at separating all the oil.

You may have to degrease, hose off, dry and drive to catch it in the act.

99% certain you have an oil pan gasket leak and oil filter housing gasket leak.

If you added 7 qts of oil, do not add more. You probably need a new oil level sensor.
