New Owner - '08 550i
Got my hands on an '08 550i in carbon black a week and a half ago. Bought it with 104,500 miles and have put a little over 1500 miles on it since purchase. Love it so far. The previous owner maintained it quite well. He purchased it as a CPO vehicle and he also had ESP. He kept perfect records of the work done on the vehicle and passed over all his receipts to me; everything was verified with the warranty history report that I acquired from my dealership.
When I got it inspected by the local indie, we did find an oil leak which the mechanic said was likely the alternator gasket deal so I will be getting that repaired at some point soon. Additionally, I'm going to slap on some Michelin Pilot Sports in the rear really soon because the back tires are getting close to the end of their serviceable life.
As I said, I'm really enjoying the vehicle. I use it predominantly as a highway cruiser although there is plenty of city driving in the mix as well. Over the 1300 miles that I have been recording its fuel economy, I have averaged 21.72 mpg with a low of 13.70 and a high of 23.93. Not too bad for what this thing is capable of.
I don't plan on modifying it much but I did put the original chrome grilles in. The PO had matte grilles in and provided me with the originals; I'm not all that in to the blacked out look and more in to the OEM look so I replaced them.

Conrats on ur new 550 . That carbon black is a nice color. Especially when the sun hits it and it has that blue tone ..
By the way,,, dont delay that alternator braket gasket repair , fix it asap....It will get oil everywhere and will damage ur alternator. If u run it too long without fixing it, it can dump all your oil out , and spoil ur day.
