I am in the process of buying a 2004 530i. I browse this forum a lot but I couldn't find the M5 looking 530. If anyone has done this mod, please post pictures in this thread so I will have some idea of M5 look mod after i purchase the vehicle. Here are couple of questions:
- M5 kits for 530 or 525: how much and are they the same?
- Quad exhaust mod: how do get it done the less inexpensive way.
- M5 badge: ebay or OEM.
Please help. I am about to close the deal on the 530. If that doesn't work out, I will take the 525. I will do the M5 mod if provided enough info.
Thanks in advance.

Doing the mods is one thing (and they are expensive), but putting an M5 badge on a 530 is a bit much. Pretty tacky IMHO.

Dont get me wrong, it is just something that one would do for the sake of the look. Just like M kits on 530, 545 and all. In my opinion, if you like it just do it. I dont see why not. I am about to buy the 530 that I want to mod it to look exactly like the M5, and i dont see why not. Just like some of you do M kits to your 5 series. Correct me if i worng, on the www.x5world.com forum, they mod 3.0 X5 to look exactly like the 4.8is X5 withou problems, I modded my 3.0 X5 to 4.8is too and I think it just looks cool. So why not with the 530 to M5? Pin point whats I am missing here. Thanks for replies.

You're missing everyone's point. No one here has a problem with you modding your car to appear like a M5. Everyone is saying NOT to put the M5 BADGE ON.

other than getting the parts from your dealer or from a shop, member quad_m, tony, sells the m-tech kit and actual M5 body kit. but i agree with everyone not to put the M5 badge on. its a 530. go ahead a de-badge it even but love it for what it is. dont try to make it something that is way out of its league unless you drop in a V10. other than that, you could do quads inexpensively by just running straight pipes / custom exhaust from a muffler shop. good luck with the mods.
