again just a little thing but I am curious if anyone else has this happening...

i get in the car, put my foot on the brake (it's an automatic) and turn the key -- lately, 2 out of 5 times i get the following warning message at the bottom of the iDrive screen: "Put your foot on the brake to start the engine!" or something like that (might even say please)... but the engine is running and the car was started (with my foot on the brake, since it doesn't start otherwise...

the pain of it is that you don't see right away which radio station is tuned - and the message doesn't go away for what seems quite a long time.

Never happened before the upgrade.

 

Mine is in for the v 11.something upgrade (I thought service adviser said 11.2). Did you have any problems with bmw assist before? Mine is not working and I have an increased emissions warning. At just over 10 thousand miles, I've had it in three times for the emissions light. Each time, I got a software upgrade, but the light returns. I have a manual, so probably won't get the warning you mentioned...would be real interesting if I do.

 

Also have BMW Assist not functioning, with 11.1. A data error shows up immediately and when the lady answers, she says she can't help me and my CA do the aquaintance call since the car is not sending her any data.

I couldn't get bmw assist to do anything, not even get a person to answer (button did not work). I have my phone installed (a v60) and maybe that had something to do with it. I have gone from the factory installed idrive software (sep '03 build) to version 10.something (to address increased emissions and get the phone installed). After v 10 install, phone and bmw assist worked. Then I got increased emissions warning again and got software upgrade to v11.0. With that upgrade, the bmw assist stopped working but I did not take car in until the emissions warning came on again. Now, I'm in for the third emissions check and software upgrade. Maybe third time will be the charm?
