Just some info from my local dealer in Old Europe:
If I decided to order today a 2009 E60, with Prof Nav (Europe), it would apparently come with new idrive + CIC system (hard drive + new screen + internet ...);
This is also what shows on our www.bmw.fr french web site
I just wondered if anybody in Europe with a new E60 could confirm this , as it appears in contradiction with previous threads on arrival of CIC in late March 09 ?
Thanks for the input !

I remember seeing a post about the new shifter and idrive, someone in Germany had the new iDrive on their 5. nothing i could remember about the thread was able to narrow it down enough to do a reasonable search. this thread was abotu 2-3 weeks ago though. There was even a picture of the car in their posession with the new iDrive.
2009 E60 will have the new iDrive and new iDrive controller if car has Navigation, if not then only the new iDrive controller will be installed (but old system and old graphics).

Found the thread... this thread also depicts the "new shifter" which was slightly changed for 2009. http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=...w+shifter\

Oh that thread ... it seems that SAT has a little bit different looking shifter compared to the ordinary automatic shifter. So you will get that one if you order SAT.
"Starting 2008 week 45, all E60 with Professional NAV come with new idrive controller AND Hard drive"
Glad to hear that, and hoping 4.0 idrive will be less 'buggy' than previous idrive !

OK, things seem clear, at least for EU cars:

According to my dealer the new navi/i-drive is coming this March. I do not remember if it was production or availability.

I had so many issues on my E60 2006 that I am kind of anxious to go for a new one....
Apparently, CIC is better than CCC but you never know....
Will let you know !
