Hi peeps,

I have a Mar 2005 non LCI model so have the very basic heater controls in the dash (see picture). I really cannot stand it as it makes the car feel cheap as they look so awful.

Does anyone know if I was to pick up a newer heater control (see picture) if this can be retrofitted? Is it a simple case of just plugging in the cables or is there more modifications that have to be done?

So can it be done? Do you have to change the front cover to match the new controls?

I hear this will not work. I do want to do the same thing too. I hate those basic air controls.
That's my next step to "Americanizing" my Euro-spec E60.

Americanizing? :think: wanna swap headlights? You can have my nice orange american reflectors to make it stand out :P

You're a bit too late ...... I even got a spare set. I could give you my old Euro set but they are only halogens.

I don't think the hvac controls can simply be swapped out -- the entire system would have to be changed too (basic vs. "high")...

where can I get that wood grain center hvac cover in dark popular I think it will make my car look more luxurious. Now I do have the americanized heater controlls :D
