New engine software, nav software, and cup holder replaced!
Before I left my car for service, I put a post-it note on the nav screen stating the miles. I started doing this since my sister wanted me to take her M3 to the dealership 6 years ago. Trying to reduce service guy's joy riding!
Anywho, I got BMW to replace my oil, update the nav software, engine software, and cup holder replacement (i broke it with my knee..)
iDrive is INCREDIBLY faster and there no lag after startup boot. Switching from FM to Sat, or switching from Sat to Nav has become so much faster! The format and font is different too. Seems like it has more options...
Engine software upgrade is noticeably better as well. When driving without using step, downshifting had a 2 second lag. Now there is none. When the car accelerates, it seems more crisp and smooth. Also, I floored it from a stop and did a mini burnout. (Before, I couldn't do this for whatever reason) Feels like a new car!
Tech guys loved the m6 wheels and said they have never seen this setup before. They agreed that M6 rims look weird on the M6.
Cup holder still sucks though.

Mike, When you say engine software do you mean CIP? If so, what version did you get uploaded?

Yes, CIP. On the invoice it just says engine software update. I don't know how to check the software.
I just had my software upgraded also... the iPod integration is really fast now, especially when going to Podcasts or any features on CD 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6.
Throttle seems the same to me.
I would love to find out where you could see the version of firmware however...
