Unhappy

I am new here so hello to everyone.

Just picked up my 2008 528i last night. Put my new dubs on this morning and one side is lower than the other.

Warning light also came on from Tire Pressure Monitor.

Was planning to lower it next week but wondering if anyone heard of anything similar ?

I had a 2006 Audi A4 and I lowered it with stock 17's. The ride was very hard which what I would like to avoid with the 528i.

Also just moved to NYC from CALI and the roads are just not the same over here. Looking for a comfortable ride but hate the look at the present moment.

Driver side rear: Almost 4 finger gap

Passenger side rear: Barely 3 finger gap

Looking to go at least with one finger gap or lower .....

Any suggestions would be highly appreciated...

Passenger side is lower than the driver side, to accommodate the drop once the driver gets in. There are plenty of coilovers made for your car, which is what I'd suggest. Eibach or H&R's. Don't just do springs, or your ride will suffer. Do a search...plenty of info on this topic.

Thanks, did not know that one...

Putting them on on H&R will eliminate this issue?

Your passenger side will still be a bit lower than the driver's side....meant to be that way, but as far as the finger gaps, your issues will be solved with dropping it on Eibach or H&R Coilovers, or whatever method you choose.

Welcome to the Forum.

You can reprogram the tire pressure from the i-Drive.

Go into Vehicle Settings>FTM>and set tire pressure

You can only do this at a Stop.

Nice wheels!

Thank you,

I did go into settings and and it would not let me change it. Will go to the dealer and see what happens....

In terms of an actual drive, how dramatic will H&R springs alone impact the ride?

Too hard ?

Thanks

E602008, You need to drive off, after you reset the TPMS or it will not complete the process. You can't just sit there in your garage and hit reset. The car needs to be driven a short distance for the computer to "communicate" with the TPMS to make sure the system is working. So, try that if you haven't already. I guess my 1st question should have been, "Do you even have TPMS on your new rims?" If not, that warning will not go away.

As for only putting H&R springs on with the OEM shocks, your comfort and driving experience will suffer as compared to stock or aftermarket coilovers. The ride gets a bit bouncy and harsh due to the fact that your OEM shocks aren't meant to be used with the shorter, stiffer H&R springs....all about the compression ratio between the two components. When you hit uneven pavement, especially on the highway, you are going to have that "bottoming out" feeling, and then your car will bounce a bit for a second or 2 aferwards. I have the H&R springs only (because the xi has no coilovers available), and I wouldn't do just springs again in the future.

There's a secton of highway on my way to work that has expansion joints every 10 meters or so for about a half mile. My car bounces along the entire stretch like I am on a pogo stick, ok...so it might be a bit of an exaggeration.
