It's a trip to the dealer to pair the key to the vehicle, so you'd be wise to check that they will do it for a used key (not from them) in advance. That being said, afaik it's possible to reprogram.

Really... My dealer gave me $264.28, with club 10% discount. They said it ships programmed, 2-3 days. We'll see.

I just went through this. From everything I've been told, random keys cannot be coded to your car (why else would they be so cheap on eBay???). Why is beyond me, but that's what they tell me. I bit the bullet and bought one from the deal. The key was over $200, and coding it was another hundred for an hour's shop time. Nobody wants to pay for it, but it's one of those costs you really can't get around.

One thing I forgot to do while I was at the dealer - I should have requested that they update all software. After all, the car is already there and they've got some highly trained, highly skilled, highly paid shop monkey to plug in the car and follow the prompts. I'm sure the software update couldn't have been too much more.
