My Ride: 535D Sport Auto
![Thumbs up](https://5series.net/forums/images/icons/icon14.gif)
My dealer called today to confirm my new E60 is ready next week and I can't wait.
Looking forward to having better equipment, a new exterior colour, darker leather and of course the M sports pack.
A few questions if I may: -
Is advanced air con very effective and can it be operated independantly of Idrive?
Are the heated seats effective?
Is extended voice easy to master?
Do the extended lights look good at night?
Is the map on sat nav pro useful in terms of route planning for a number of destinations
Be grateful for any feedback

Yes, to be honest I hardly ever change the settings on mine, just set the temp and leave it on auto, it does the rest.
Are the heated seats effective?
Not sure, didn't go for them.
Is extended voice easy to master?
Again, did not go for this.
Do the extended lights look good at night?
another thing i did not get but have seen pics and they look good, that said i felt i could live without them so didn't spec them.

Yes, this is my 2nd E60, first has BusNav so still getting to grips with SatNavPro, one thing i will say is that the 2005-1 DVD has a LOT of information on it for hotels/places of interest etc etc etc the map is very useful and the ability to just twirl the idrive controller to change the scale is nice, esp in "Perspective" view mode.
Enjoy your car when you get it, i am very pleased with mine especially the handling, the m-sports suspension makes a significant difference and the sports seats just give that extra bit of support you need.

Heated seats - fantastic, essential on a cold morning if you have leather
Extended lights - nice, esp the external wing mirror lights.

Mostly agree especially on the advanced aircon. Quite simply stunning in use - through four seasons I can honestly say it's pretty much the best thing on the car.
I find it so accurate that if I am am driving in a T-shirt I will have it at 22C, in a shirt/sweater 21C and I have NEVER had to move it from that in any season. I have my centre vent set to 1 blue bar (personal taste of course). Job done.
A quick cautionary on the pro nav. You CANNOT porgram waypoints (iirc it is possible on business nav - someone please confirm?). This is a fairly big minus imo. You can add multiple addresses to the "destinations list", this is a semi-workaround but not very elegant.
Oh and Iceman, when are they going to incorporate user definable road speeds for the route calcs????
- this too is poor, imo
