Word is that Bridgestone are to release their new run flats soon, the new generation of tyre claims to address all the problems of the current generation tyres like harsh ride, stiff sidewalls etc.
Apparently they have pretty regular sidewalls but boned by rubber which goes across the tyre horizontally, when the tyre goes flat the extra temperatures generated stiffen the carcase and sidewall of the tyre to give the run flat properties.
Will be interesting to see if they work

IMHO the runflat is a great feature in many regards and it's only a matter of time before the [real & perceived] negative factors are engineered out.

Lets hope they cost less that $450 a tire too... lol
I'm about to buy the Kumho RFTs due to being only about $230 a tire vs the Goodyears at $450 for the front and $475 for the rears... hell even the Michelins are cheaper than that...
Yeah every one will moan that I need to ditch them but around here where the government can't afford to fix the roads they are a necessary evil..
Jeff CO had to slash like 80Mill in two week due to a occupational tax be judged unfair.... The roads were bad enough when they were trying to fix them....
I'm thinking northern Mid west sized pot wholes.
