Hi all,

My 550i with the M-sport package was finally delivered last week (after 8 weeks of waiting), and it's been a joy to drive since.

I did have a question for all of you:

I've noticed that there are a number of uneven gaps around the bumper of my car.

(1) Between the headlights and the kidney grill. The gap on the passenger side is about 0.5 cm more than the gap on the driver side.

(2) Between the hood and the bumper. An even 0.5 cm, which seems like it's probably within design specs.

(3) In addition, the bumper is flush with the kidney grill on the driver side, but is "pulled in" about 0.5 cm on the passenger side.

I'm trying to get a sense as to whether I should bother getting the bumper adjusted, or whether everyone has these gaps and uneven spaces, and I should just relax.

Thanks in advance.

Congrats on joining our little community of Carbon Black 550i Sports. Member Poleposition also has one and there are a few other members as well whose names escape me.

I don't give you much advice on your issues other than to take your ride back to the dealer and point out these issues to them.

Thanks, sdg1871 -- appreciate the reply. Carbon black is such a beautiful color -- it has so much depth.

I have an appointment scheduled with the dealer, but just wanted to get a sense as to whether these gaps are considered normal or not.

I actually have some fitment issues with my front bumper. It is not flush on the passenger side.

When I got my 550i, I had to loosen the front fascia so I could pull it out a bit to line it up with the hood. It was pushed in a bit right in that middle, skinny area between the kidneys.

Everything can be adjusted by the dealership or by you with the right amount of pulling and prodding.

Thanks for the reply, DrLev99. My bumper is also pushed in a bit in the middle, skinny area. I'll ask the dealership to adjust everything so that it's more flush. Good to know that everything can be adjusted and lined up better.

Like your avatar -- I've been a Steelers fan my whole life. I hope they're not making a mistake in cutting Isaac Redman!

nice car.

Thanks -- here are some more pics, including one of the interior. I've already switched out the beige floor mats to anthracite ones. The wood is light poplar, which isn't very common, but which I think is a nice match for the beige leather.

First of all congratulations and welcome to the V8 club. Love carbon black!! Light poplar is a perfect match for the beige leather. Like Doc/Dave said, fiment issues can be addressed by your dealership. Don't hesitate to voice your concerns.
