Merv - nice looking trim, looks warm.

le me know how you get on, looks like i will be trackingyour car selection.. i have 530d and am considering either a 535d sport for delivery early 2006 or a 550 sport...depends if i put through my co. or buy privately. Interested to know how you get on and if you find the diesel noise harsher with twin turbo over single turbo.

Congrats
David

Congratulations Merv the Derv, on your new car. You are lucky to be cruising in a 535d!
I had a question concerning the hifi sound system, did you get to compare it to logic 7 before choosing? Is is worth the huge price difference with the 10 speaker system.

And please please a nice and long comparison with the 530d driving!

Thanks

Ghassane,

I had the standard sound system before i.e. the cheapest one out of the three systems, std, HiFi and Logic 7. I know in the states for eg their std system is HiFi, don't know about your availability?

I paid an extra ?355 for HiFi and the added sound quality is ten fold.
I am more than happy with it and couldn't justify the extra for Logic 7.

Cheers

Merv.

Once I've done a few more miles I will post my opinion. See my AS topic - first thing I noticed was how much better non AS is.

David the 535d seems more refined at low revs - not opened it up yet.

will second that, also upgraded this time to Hifi and the difference in quality is well worth the extra ?355.

Congrats Merv on the purchase... looking fwd to external pics.
I have the Hi-Fi, and while i haven't heard the Logic 7 (extra 3 speakers) the Hi-Fi set up is quite something for a stock system.

Mark - Nice car !!!! Certainly worth the wait

Do you mind me asking what your cost to change was ? (pm me if you'd rather keep this private)

I agree about the light trim this looks very swish - IMO this looks better that the standard sport "cube" trim.
