Just got a 08 528i Space Gray, CPO, for a great price. Now I am looking at doing some simple and cheap mods to it, for the time being. No expensive mods (I am on a tight budget).

Looking to do cosmetic changes only. (I have made a simple list of the things I want to do).

Smoked Tailights {I prefer the film, but no place, not even egay has smoked film covers for 08 models}
Tinted Windows (I would like all windows tinted) (How much should this cost, and what is the law in NY?)
License Plate LED lights.

Thats about it for the time being. If you know any cheap mods that I can do to make my 528i "Stand Out", please let me know.

The other day I saw a 528i at a local BMW dealer and he had a dummy exhaust on his, looked like an M5 quad exhaust. How much do these things cost, and are they worth it or no.

On a winter day it would look silly to have only two of the quads emitting smoke, but the other two not.

Looking forward to meet some nice people here !

Welcome to the forum, enjoy your time and the 5 series family!! Your mod question? Whoa boy, that will generate a few hundred responses - get ready

For the lights - contact brabus209amg (John)

For the rest - location would be helpful

To stand out more for not that much $$$:

Try these, I have them and they look great - see my album if you wish.

Found some great things to do to my E60.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Xenon-HID-6...sQ5fAccessories

How are these bulbs. My E60 did not come with Xenon lights !.

Would these tint film covers work on my 08. Dealer told me 04-07 lights are different, then 08-10.

As far as cheap mods go, the lighting mods offered by member brabusw209amg and other vendors really work.

Some of the goods one include (I have attached my thread with pics on each of these mods:

(1) 6000K HID Fog Lights https://5series.net/forums/index.php...opic=82284&hl=

(2) 6000K HID Headlights https://5series.net/forums/index.php...opic=83026&hl=

(3) 8500K GP Thunder AE bulbs https://5series.net/forums/index.php...opic=83026&hl=

(4) LED Interior Lights https://5series.net/forums/index.php...opic=82153&hl=

(5) LED Reverse Lights https://5series.net/forums/index.php...opic=82664&hl=

(6) LED License Plate Lights (RD License Plate Lights): https://5series.net/forums/index.php...opic=83731&hl=

(7) Stealth Turn Signals https://5series.net/forums/index.php...opic=83264&hl=

I have all of these lighting mods and I really think that they have really enhanced the look of my car and, even taken together, they were not that expensive.

Some other fly looking lighting mods out there include the LED eyebrow upgrade and LED turn signals done by member nigxdoof.

Brabus and nigxdoof have threads about all of these mods.

Thanks SDG .

I am going to get those 6000k HID fog lights. Are those plug and play?

What about those 2 links I posted? Are those tint film cover, and Xenon lights good?

Once again thanks !

In my LCI 550, the 6000K HIG fog install was plug and play (once you access the lights).

I am not technically, saavy to comment on the stuff you found on ebay. I am sure that john (brabusw209amg) can discuss those with you. What I can tell you is that the 6000K HID headlights looks so much brighter and bolder than the OEM HID headlights in my car. OEM = yellowish/white hue. 6000K = bluish/white hue.

I only like tinted tails on white and black cars. I love the OEM look on my LCI tails so I would never tint them.

Because I like bright, I would never tint my headlights. I want the world to see my LCI headlights in all of their glory. They are beautiful. BMW hit it out of the park in the beauty of the design of the LCI headlights and tails.
