hey guys my friend recently just bought a 2008 550i, he wants to know if he could still change his current automatic transmission to the sports automatic transmission option (added paddle shifters and different style shiftknob). he got the sports package option but he didn't take the Sports automatic transmission option that comes along with it for $500 extra. Any comments whether or not getting the sports automatic trans makes a difference or not compared to the normal auto trans? My friend wants to add the option cuz he didn't know the shift knob would look different (much better i think...)

IF its as simple as just the add onof paddles shift and change of gear lever, then i would of thought no problem, but if theres a difference of how the engine reacts, t6hen it may not be possible, again i would say ask the dealer if this can be fitted after the factory time.
