Hey WC, forgive me but, what is a front splitter? What is a read difuser? Is there a rear splitter?
A front difuser? ![Tongue](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/tongue.gif)

Google to the rescue ...
Race cars use splitters to keep the airflow at the front of the car directed the way it should go. The air above the lower lip is intended to go through the intercooler and radiator. Below that, it should go under the car. Without the splitter, some air will tend to spill over around the lower lip, which lessens cooling efficiency and increases lift. With the splitter in place, cooling is improved and lift is decreased.
Hate to see you "confused".

those splitters are very nice...i also have them on my car...they're really light carbon fiber and fit on perfectly like a glove...

Here's my new 550i...
3 weeks old and 5,100 miles down, I couln't be happier! There's something about being able to downshift from 6th to 4th at 100mph to pass on the highway that is hard to replicate. I just recently took off the snow tires (pictured) and put the 19"s back on. Quite frankly I was tired of getting passed by Audi wagons on the autobahn because I was stuck at 130mph (210kph). I think there might be some Nuerburgring time coming up so I'll be sure to let everyone know how it goes...

I don't think high gloss was an option.

No, but it should be included in M-sport package like it was before LCI models. At least here in Europe dealers are fitting high gloss trims without additional costs (to LCI M-sports) because they should have been fitted in the factory but there was some error and the cars came out with a matt shadowline trim.

If I am not mistaken, those CF pieces arent factory installed but accessories available thru the dealer. Looks great. Thinking of doing something similar but Eurorev's CF ACS replica diffuser is a bit more aggressive looking and cheaper. Great look tho. Any closeup pics of the CF on the front and back????

That is correct... the 17"s are the winter tires, a mandatory accessory during the German winter. I took them off because I have a different car I can drive when the weather gets a little ugly, and being stuck at 210kph just wasn't any fun. I'm actually about an hour from Frankfurt so if anyone wants to go for a drive (or a day at the 'ring), drop me a line. As for the carbon. It was NOT factory installed, but they're an OEM BMW option that my dealer had installed.
