So here is the problem. I found some M5 166 rims for 850! well they are in great condition and running 245/35/19 up front and 265/30/19 rear. This is on an 2008 535i non sport. They bolted up fine. However, when i decided to do an op check, the car wouldnt move! after an inspection, i noticed the rim was jammed into the strut! What gives? Do i need spacers in the front?? I know of the rears using 12mm spacers, but purely cosmetic. As far as front, i never heard of them needing a spacer....ANY help please????

Are you sure they're REAL BMW M5 rims?

If they are OEM M5 166 rims, they don't need spacers nor will they rub if the tire specs are right.. Mine are 235/30/19 and 265/35/19.

if you do not see the word BMW and a part number on the back of one of the spokes they're not real, and most likely have an e46/e90 offset. the originals would not rub on an E60.

+1 sounds like a screw job. That's gotta suck.

Bona-fide 166s should fit like gloves.

This will not help your problem by any means, but there is one thing I've learned quickly concerning wheels in this forum is that 1) confirm your offset requirements 2) If the deal is too good to be true, it probably is. 3) run it past a shop like trinity to confirm.

I hope you find resolution to your problem quickly man. I just had to unload a sweet set of 124's cause the offset was for RWD E60!

Damn.. I'd have picked em up if the price was right. I can use a spare set for when these crack, plus I have some minor roadrash on one (bought it that way)..

Those are NOT OEM M166's. They are replica 166's and they are also the wrong offset for an E60. You will need to run spacers to make them work.
